We are based in Port Hardy on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
By road we are 4.5 hours north of Nanaimo by modern highway.  B.C. Ferries connects Nanaimo to Vancouver by two different routes.  Horseshoe Bay-( North Vancouver)- Departure Bay - (Nanaimo) for those of you coming from most areas in Canada and Tswwassen (South of Vancouver) - Duke Point (Nanaimo) for those of you traveling up from the U.S.  Ferry schedules/ reservation system/ pricing:  www.bcferries.com

Air
Port Hardy has a modern airport built to take 737 jet traffic.  Pacific Coastal Airlines have three flights a day in the summer time. (Kind of pricey, but some of my clients elect to do it this way due to time restraints. )www.pacificcoastal.com.  Alternate air service to Port Hardy is available by contacting:  www.flyeagleair.com . Recently Comox has built a modern airport and West Jet Airlines have very good prices and direct flights from Edmonton and Calgary to Comox, daily in the summer.  www.westjet.com.  ( About $120.00 a person).  You can rent vehicles from various rental car agencies at the Comox airport:  National 250-334-0202, Budget 250-338-7717 and Rent a Wreck 250-334-2060.    Port Hardy is 300 kms north of Comox ( 3.5hrs) by good highway.
There are a couple of places to stay near the airport in Comox if your flights don't quite line up with our trip dates..  For economy, clean, etc. try: www.portaugustainn.com.   If you golf and fish and want a first class place to stay with a great golf course, an old friend of the Silver Fox created a beautiful four star place in the Comox Valley:  www.crownisle.com

Ferry
Port Hardy is the southern terminus for the Inside Passage excursion ferry run between Prince Rupert and Port Hardy.  Every other day the Northern Adventurer sails out of Port Hardy or returns from Prince Rupert. This keeps the hotels in Port Hardy humming in the summertime. You can interconnect with Alaska State Ferries in Prince Rupert.  Alternately one can tour Vancouver Island, arrange a trip with us, depart northwards to Prince Rupert by ferry and carry on a circle trip through the north-central part of British Columbia and back through the Rockies or return to Vancouver.  A wonderful family holiday. www.bcferries.com

Notice to our American Clients.  You must have a passport in order to get back into the U.S.A. if you are flying.  By the end of this year you will need one when you are driving through the border.  Those persons with criminal records have been refused entry on both sides of the border which I am sure must be embarrassing if you are traveling with a group of fishing buddies and are refused entry.
