4-Day Overnight Package

Annually we do about 15 overnight trips a year, starting at the beginning of June to the end of September. Our most popular fishing package is a four day all inclusive overnight charter.  We are booked out for the coming 2010 year however we are taking names for our 2011 season.  We enjoy an 80%  annual return rate of clients which speaks for itself.  The Silver Fox is 41 ft. (12.5 mtrs.) overall and sleeps a crew of four adults comfortably, plus the skipper, on overnight trips.  We have taken families with up to 3 children split between the two couples, and they all managed to fit!  Because of the nature of overnight trips, no further or "hidden or extra" costs occur as we also supply all meals and accommodation is on board.   We have all the modern conveniences on the boat including a nice shower set-up.  Your skipper cooked professionally for many years in a popular pub-restaurant. ( Click on Professional Cook)  For some of you, this will be the first time you have spent a night anchored out in a quiet cove, away from the city or a lodge, so I will attempt to explain a little bit about it.  Breakfast is a busy time, so we do it continental style so we don't interrupt "prime time."  By featuring a smorgasbord style lunch, again, we can fish or cruise right through the lunch hour.  The evening meal is a 3 course affair augmented by fresh caught seafood and I am sure you will like the entries, which change daily.  We always find a quiet cove to anchor in and get a good night's sleep.  For sleeping quarters we have a large queen size V-Berth with privacy up forward for two men or a couple.  The main salon area has two more berths that are spacious for large men or even a couple. (Click on Silver Fox Vessel).   We package up your fish in special fly boxes approved for flying your catch home.  We have modern freezer/refrigeration units on board.  There is an excellent fish packaging/smoking operation operating in Port Hardy (www.hardybouys.com) for those wishing to smoke or cure their catch. We also operate fish and fly charters (usually in August) where you are flown in a chartered Beaver float plane  to Rivers Inlet or other famous fishing spots north of Port Hardy. These action packed trips expand our normal fishing area and provide more actual fishing time as you reduce your travel time to the "fishing hole".

Day Trips 

 

  In addition to our normal four day overnight trips we also offer day trips on board the Silver Fox so your group can enjoy a great day of  fishing or an eco tour in the nearby calm inland waters surrounding Port Hardy! Generally we run approximately 10 hours on a normal day trip and fish or explore the cluster of islands located in front of Port Hardy and the mainland coast of B.C. Our spacious warm and cozy cabin with full bathroom facilities, diesel stove, and dining nook area provides a great way for larger groups, families or corporate executive groups to enjoy an outing all on the same vessel.   Hot meals, fresh caught seafood, or a full buffet can be part of your exciting day excursion. We are licensed to carry up to 11 persons and provide comfortable seating for everyone.   There is room for small children to lay down in a spacious area up forward and have a nap while the adults are busy catching fish. Meals and snacks can be heated up at any time.  The coffee pot is always on!  You can arrange overnight accommodation in two nearby three star hotels/motor inns: www.glenlyoninn.com or www.quarterdeckresort.net.  Your guests can walk to the Silver Fox in less than three minutes from these waterfront establishments. There are also economical motels and full facility r.v. campsites within five minute's drive from our vessel.  The Silver Fox is the largest sports fishing charter vessel* on the North Island. * Properly registered and insured as a Passenger Carrying Vessel  certified  by Canada Transport/ Canadian Coast Guard/CSI/ and operated by licensed, certified skippers.  There are other larger  certified charter vessels engaged in whale watching etc. that are certified for groups larger than 11 however they are not set up for fishing or going ashore adventures, or providing freshly prepared hot meals, etc.
